Janis is given an alarm clock from Maya.

Janis Hawk remarks to her lover Maya that she is often late to work because her alarm clock is unreliable. Maya therefore gets Janis a new alarm clock as a gift, giving it to Janis on a date to an art gallery before revealing that she read an account of Janis's flashforward on the Mosaic website.("Gimme Some Truth")
