Jack Davenport is the actor who portrays Lloyd Simcoe.

BiographyEdit

Jack Davenport, the son of two actors, was born in Suffolk, England. When his parents divorced seven years later, he was sent to a boarding school in order to be shielded from the divorce proceedings. He then went on to attend Cheltenham College and then the British American Drama Academy.

In 2000, Davenport married fellow actress Michelle Gomez.

CareerEdit

Davenport's first major role came with the 1996 television series This Life, in which he played the character Miles Stewart for all thirty-two episodes of the show. In 1998, Davenport appeared as a main character in the short run of the vampire television series Ultraviolet. The next year, Davenport appeared in the film The Talented Mr. Ripley. Jack portrayed Steve Taylor in BBC's comedy Coupling from 2000 to 2004.

Davenport's breakout role came with his performance as Norrington in the 2003 action blockbuster Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. The extremely successful film warranted two sequels, both of which Davenport starred in. Davenport later appeared in the comedy film The Boat That Rocked in 2009.
