Ms. Gerber was a school employee (probably a teacher) who was monitoring activity on the playground at Charlie Benford's school during the "Blackout game." Charlie refused to play the game, an argument ensued among the children, Zack grabbed and tore Charlie's Squirrelio toy, and Charlie pushed Zack to the ground. Gerber completely ignored Zack's culpability and grasped Charlie by the shoulders, saying that Charlie would have to come with Gerber, presumably to the school office. Charlie broke away and ran down a sidewalk with Gerber in pursuit.
