The National Security Agency (NSA) is the chief cryptologic intelligence agency of the United States of America. It is administered as part of the Department of Defense.

The FBI passed the Detroit Suspect Zero video to the NSA for further analysis. The NSA returned the video enhanced enough for Janis Hawk to spot Suspect Zero wearing a ring. ("Playing Cards with Coyote") The NSA's digital forensics team continued to work on the image and were able to enhance the ring to show the Greek letter alpha on the ring. ("Believe")
