QED: Quod Erat Demonstrandum, "Quantum Electrodynamics" or "Quantum Electronic Device(s)?Edit
Ingrid Alvarez said that as the two men who murdered walked away from Neal Parofsky "...they were talking about something. It sounded like 'QED'. Later, when playing cards with Lloyd Simcoe, Simon Campos says "Q.E.D.", Latin for "Quod Erat Demonstrandum", Latin for "it is proven". QED could also stand for Quantum Electrodynamics or Quantum Electronic Device(s). The last is an interesting possibility as it is mentioned that Neal Parofsky was working for an electronics company, Microcircadian Electronics, before he was murdered and it could refer to the rings in the case that was taken from him and given to Flosso, Ricky Jay's character, at the end of the episode.
- In "Blowback", Lloyd discounts both Quod Erat Demonstrandum and "Quantum Electrodynamics," due to his use of the definite article, "the," in front of the initialism. Note that (the) "Quantum Electronic Device" is not discounted.
As a fun aside the name of Ricky Jay's character, Flosso, is apparently a tribute to magician Al Flosso.
