In "A561984", Wheeler, who introduced himself as "John," and his partner arrived at Angeles Hospital in an ambulance, ostensibly to transport Dylan Simcoe to another hospital. The situation outside the hospital spun out of control when Olivia Benford became suspicious of their conduct. Wheeler's partner, Quarry, shot a guard called by Olivia and Wheeler threatened to shoot Olivia herself. Wheeler and his partner forced Lloyd Simcoe into the ambulance and fled the scene.("A561984")

Later, he took part in the torture of Simon, and was the one who cut off his pinky finger with a cigar trimmer. Later, after Benford broke through the door of the building to rescue Simcoe and Campos, he ran off towards a car behind the building. There, he was confronted by Simon, who had stolen his gun. Simon then shot him dead for removing his finger. ("Revelation Zero, Part 1")
